Noreen has a special interest in creating work for sacred spaces
- prayer rooms, oratories, retreat houses, meditation spaces -
Made to commission, each work is developed specifically for its setting, reflecting the interests and the needs of the group using the space. After consultation Noreen will design and make a unique piece of art which will act as a source of spiritual inspiration. Contemplation of her work is like reading an icon – slowly deciphering the layers of meaning hidden within. Noreen is open to working within any spiritual tradition, wherever people want art to honour a sacred space.

Brigid's Cloaks 2011 Brigid, known in Ireland as a Celtic goddess and more recently as Saint Brigid, has many stories associated with her. One was that she was able to expand her cloak to cover enough land to build her first monastery. These Brigid cloaks are inspired by this strong feminine presence which ushers in the Spring on the 1st day of February. They illustrate her association with water and fire – for healing, smithcraft and hospitality. Appliqued from a variety of materials these textiles pieces are stiched and quilted into vibrant wall hangings. |
